The NYNJ Port Authority recently finished a replacement project of the Goethals Bridge in which a new structure was constructed parallel to the original structure.

Triple R was contracted to arrange transport of specialized structural steel from the fabricator’s plants in Maryland and New Hampshire. Over the course of two years, Triple R shipped several hundred loads, ranging from legal loads to superloads, to both the New Jersey and New York sides of the bridge. The project involved significant planning, and required geometric surveys in New York City along with full bridge closures for night time delivery of multiple superloads.

Triple R provided rigging services as well as a storage yard in close proximity to the bridge. As girder sections were required, Triple R provided onsite jockeying to assist in the real time construction of the bridge.
